


The Naz Foundation (India) Trust is a Delhi based NGO working on HIV/AIDS and Sexual Health since 1994. Naz India works towards preventing the spread of HIV, engages in advocacy, care and support. It also aims to sensitize the community to the prevalence of HIV.
Mission - HIV/AIDS is a complex issue that affects all our lives whatever the gender, class, caste, religion, sexuality and sexual orientation. Naz India is committed to raising awareness to prevent the spread of HIV and providing support to those living with the virus and those affected by it, with sensitivity and utmost confidentiality.
Programs:
The Naz Care Home provides home to orphaned children and abandoned women living with HIV. At present there are 34 children in the age group of 5 months to 14 years and two women. Naz provides for their academic, nutritional, and medical as well as psychosocial needs.
The Naz Care Home aims to provide care and support in a holistic manner. The focus is on reduction in the occurrence of Opportunistic infections and extending the life span. The children at the Care Home are under constant medical supervision and are provided good care, the best possible education, extra curricular activities, avenues for personality development and encouraging special aptitudes.
The Care Home is run with the help of a team of professionals such as a medical officer, nurses (round the clock), coordinator, administrator, caregivers and trained counselors. Volunteers are also encouraged to work with the children.
The Home Based Care program, addresses the need for services and support to families with one or more member living with HIV. The program helps families with medical and nursing care, psychosocial support, legal assistance and capacity building.
The Male Sexual Health Program is designed to reach out to the community of men who have sex with men (MSM) with counseling, support group meetings, training programs and interventions to help prevent the spread of HIV and other STIs.
Peer Education projects operates in local colleges and universities to build a group of peer educators who can work within their schools to raise awareness about gender, sexuality and HIV/AIDS
Goal-Reaching New Heights is a multi-stakeholder community programme, which aims to empower women to become leaders and social activists in their communities. The programme is a public private partnership, which uses sports (netball) as vehicle of social inclusion.
Advocacy and training - Naz coordinates and conduct training and workshops on issues related to HIV/AIDS and sexual health with the objective to build the capacity of individuals and organizations by raising their awareness levels and bringing about a positive change in their attitudes.
Naz OPD and VCTC operates six days of the week providing HIV testing, pre and post test counseling and doctor sees patients within NI and outside.
